Determined to have the wonderful life she has dreamed of despite her illness, much to her mother’s dismay, she plunges in head first. Long manages to convey both Shelby’s determined strength and her underlying frailty without getting all (cough, cough) Camille about it. PTC is fortunate that Long’s fiancé is a Bangor native; I hope to see her again and again on this stage after such an enchanting debut.”
